LEARNING LEDGER

Privacy Policy

Effective October 2, 2026 · Version 2026-10-02.1

Your ledger is device-local. Sharing is your choice. Support, beta feedback and external services have separate privacy considerations.

Who this policy covers

Learning Ledger is owned and operated by Jenna Lynn Featherstone Books LLC (the Application Provider, also called we, us or our) for parents and legal guardians to organize family learning records. This policy describes the current device-local app and its privacy-policy website. It also explains information you choose to send for support or beta testing. Contact us at jennalynnfeatherstonebooks@gmail.com with privacy questions or requests.

Your school records stay in your device's app storage

The app stores the information you enter locally: child profiles, school years, lessons, grades, attendance, reading logs, schedules, activities, notes, photographs, PDFs and optional planning data. It uses these records to display your ledger, plan activities and create the reports or backups you request. No Learning Ledger account is required, and we do not receive or keep a server copy of these records through ordinary app use.

The app does not include advertising, advertising identifiers, developer-added usage analytics or tracking across other apps or websites. We do not sell your school records or share them for targeted advertising. The local acceptance record for the Supplemental Parent/Guardian Terms includes the text, version and acceptance date; it is not sent to us or transferred in a family backup.

Photos, files and optional calendars

You choose which photos or files to attach, and camera or photo-library access is requested when needed. Imported files may contain names, faces or other metadata, so review them before sharing. You can decline permissions and continue using the other parts of the app.

Calendar access is optional and requires your device's permission. The app lists available calendars so you can select which to use. Selected events can be displayed or imported. Reviewed calendar updates send event titles, dates, times and locations to the calendar you choose, not academic notes, grades or work-sample photos. A title or location may still reveal personal details you entered. Your calendar provider and people sharing that calendar may receive those events. Calendar providers already configured on your device handle their own storage and syncing; Learning Ledger does not request their passwords or automatically sync calendars in the background.

Turn optional features off in Learning Ledger or revoke camera, photo or calendar permissions in your device settings. Turning a feature off does not erase previously saved records or copies already sent to a calendar or another service.

Exports, email, printing and backups

Records leave the app when you choose to export, share, email, print or transfer them, or use the optional calendar connection. Your selected email app, file-storage service, recipient or printer handles those copies under its own privacy practices. A full family backup can include every child's records and embedded work samples. Check the recipient and file contents before sharing; do not send a full backup to support unless it is needed and you choose to do so.

Password protection is available for exported backups. An unencrypted JSON backup can be read by anyone who obtains it. Keep backup passwords separately and safely; we cannot reset a forgotten backup password or recover records we do not hold. Ordinary local records are not encrypted by the export-password feature. Protect your device and the accounts where you save copies.

Learning Ledger's automatic iCloud backup feature is not enabled in the current version, and records do not automatically sync between Learning Ledger installations. Your operating system or account provider may independently include app data in device backups, depending on your settings. Saving a file to iCloud Drive or another service yourself is also separate from the app's automatic-backup feature.

Support and TestFlight feedback

If you email us, we receive your email address, message and any attachments you send. We use them to answer your request, troubleshoot problems and improve the app. Use sample records or redact children's details whenever possible. Email delivery and storage are handled by our email provider, Google/Gmail, under its privacy practices.

During TestFlight testing, Apple processes tester information, installation and usage information, crash reports and feedback. Apple makes relevant testing information available to the developer; screenshots or messages you submit may reveal school records. We use beta feedback and diagnostics to investigate problems and improve the app. Apple's TestFlight privacy notice explains its collection and your choices. Stop testing through TestFlight if you no longer wish to participate.

Retention, deletion and your choices

Local records remain until you delete them or the device's app storage is removed. Deletion and restoration can leave earlier records and files in up to ten local recovery points until those points rotate out. Recovery points are not an off-device backup. Clearing app storage or deleting the iOS app can permanently remove local records and the terms receipt; offloading an app is different and can preserve its data. Save and verify an independent backup first if you want to keep your records.

Deleting an in-app record does not delete copies in exported files, email, operating-system backups, recipient devices or external calendars. Manage those copies with the relevant provider or recipient. We cannot remotely access, export or erase records stored only on your device.

We retain support correspondence and developer-accessible beta feedback only as needed to respond, investigate issues, maintain necessary business records or meet legal obligations. Ask us at the contact email to access, correct or delete personal information we actually hold. We may need to verify your request, and applicable law may require us to retain some information. Apple and other providers control their own retention and rights processes. Depending on where you live, additional privacy rights may apply; you may also contact your local data-protection authority.

Children's information

Learning Ledger is intended for parents and guardians, not independent child accounts. Parents decide what information to enter and what to share. Optional child checklists operate within the parent's local ledger and do not create a separate child account. We do not ask children to send personal information to us. If you believe a child sent us information directly, contact us so we can investigate and address deletion as appropriate.

This website and other providers

This policy page is hosted using OpenAI Sites and Cloudflare infrastructure. Visiting it makes a normal web request, which can expose an IP address, browser/device information and request details to the hosting providers for delivery, security and operation. The page contains no school-record upload form, advertising or analytics code added by us, and opening it does not attach your ledger. Hosting providers may process operational information under their own privacy policies.

Apple, Google and hosting providers may process information in countries other than yours. We use information received for support and beta testing only for the purposes described here, and may disclose it where required by law or necessary to address abuse or protect rights and safety. We do not promise that an external recipient or service can never experience a security incident. Review the provider policies linked below and choose sharing destinations carefully.

Policy updates

We will update this policy and its effective date when our practices change. Any future account, automatic cloud-backup, analytics or other materially different data feature will need an updated explanation and any permission or consent required before it is enabled. This notice does not replace Apple's Standard EULA or the separate Supplemental Parent/Guardian Terms, and it does not waive privacy rights that apply to you.
